Bullard Independent School District will accept applications and nominations for people that have made a positive impact on the district for the Bullard ISD Wall of Honor Class of 2017 until Friday, Feb. 17.

“The Wall of Honor is a great way of recognizing those individuals who have given many hours to the field of education or have simply made an impact on their community,” said Jan Hill, Bullard ISD deputy superintendent. “It’s a great honor and a sincere moment to realize all the hard work and other assets some of the greatest people have contributed to the Bullard community and to BISD.”

The Wall of Honor recognizes former students and staff, military servicemen and servicewomen, and community members that have enriched the lives of Bullard ISD students. According to Bullard ISD, nominees should be men and women who have distinguished themselves in their careers and service to others and have brought honor to the Bullard ISD community.

Those selected as members of the Bullard ISD Wall of Honor Class of 2017 will join names that are synonymous with the history of Bullard ISD, as well as the Bullard community. Currently, the Wall of Honor has enshrined a total of 70 members in its seven years of existence.

Those nominated for the Bullard ISD wall of Honor can be graduates of Bullard High School, community members who have made a significant contribution to the Bullard community, and/or military personnel from the Bullard area or have had an influence on the Bullard area.

There are certain people who are not eligible for nomination for the Bullard ISD Wall of Honor, including current Bullard ISD teachers and staff members, as well as current members of the BISD Board of Trustees. There are also no self-nominations allowed.

After the nomination deadline, a committee will review all applications for nomination. Nominees selected by the committee will be mailed a form requesting more information. The Bullard ISD Wall of Honor Class of 2017 will be honored at a ceremony held Sunday, April 2, inside the Audry B. Owens Auditorium, located on the BHS campus.
