Motorists who are used to using one of the main veins of traffic in and out of the city of Bullard will now need to find an alternate route to reach their destination.
Farm-to-Market Road 344 is now closed for repairs at Grove Club Lake, between the cities of Bullard and Whitehouse.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, Red Barron Construction of Lindale, the contractor for the project, will be replacing the existing worn out culvert. Message boards have been installed to warn motorists of the closure.
Repairs for the affected area are expected to take approximately two months to complete. Traffic will be redirected around the project to FM 756, then FM 346, and back to Highway 110 S.
The cost of the project is projected at $348,000. The area will be an active work zone, as motorists should use caution and obey all safety measures installed to assist with traffic control.
