Brook Hill CC claims first top finish in program history at Tyler Grace Invitational

Back in action last week, the Brook hill Guard varsity and middle school cross country programs traveled the short distance to Tyler to compete in the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, held Saturday, Oct. 7, at South Springs Baptist Church.

Guard Varsity:

A total of five runners represented the Guard varsity cross country team at the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, with all of the Guard competitors bringing home strong finishes.

Elliott Middleton was the leader of the brigade for the Guard varsity cross country team at the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, placing 17th overall with a time of 21:56.79.

Other Guard runners competing in the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet included Noah Engelhardt, placing 35th with a time of 26:24.29; Justin Powell, placing 36th with a time of 27:03.29; and Rush McLarry, placing 42nd with a time of 29:52.11.

Lady Guard Varsity:

The Lady Guard varsity cross country team had a duo of runners competing in the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet.

Diana Ramirez was the fastest Lady Guard runner at the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, taking home 14th place with a time of 16:58.80. Also racing for the Lady Guard was Kayla Dahn, claiming a 25th place finish with a time of 17:59.50.

Guard Middle School:

The Brook Hill Guard middle school cross country team also saw action at the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, securing a ninth place team finish with a team total score of 198, outrunning the competition from area schools such as Hawkins, Tyler Three Lakes, and Northside Christian Academy.

Joshua Collins made his way down the trails of the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet in a hurry for the Guard, finishing in 17th place with a time of 14:17.43.

Other Guard middle school cross country runners taking part in the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet included Nathanael Dahn, placing 27th with a time of 15:48.07; James Jordan, placing 29th with a time of 15:49.25; Jack Jenkins, placing 48th with a time of 17:42.36; and Colin Dement, placing 72nd with a time of 20:40.25.

Lady Guard Middle School:

Brook Hill's Lady Guard middle school cross country team also raced against the tough competition at the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, taking home several top finishes.

Hannah Smith was the leader for the Lady Guard middle school cross country team at the Tyler Grace Community Invitational Cross Country Meet, as the young Lady Guard runner led the entire pack of runners, claiming a first place finish with a time of 13:51.25, the first-ever top cross country finish in Brook Hill history.

The Lady Guard middle school cross country team was also represented by Karissa Dahn, procuring a 25th place finish with a time of 16:14.43.

Next meet: Thursday, Oct. 19 - District meet at Kiepersol Winery in Bullard.
