Brook Hill athletes finish strong at TAPPS State meet

A total of five athletes representing The Brook Hill School competed against some of the best athletes in Texas by participating in the 2018 TAPPS 5A Track and Field Championships, held Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, at Waco Midway ISD’s Panther Stadium.

In the men’s 100 meter dash event, the Guard’s Sam Nechi was able to take home a seventh place finish with a time of 11.34.

Ke’Airra Christopher competed for the Lady Guard in a total of two events, as she placed third in the women’s 400 meter dash with a time of 58:53, as well as fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.93.

In the women’s pole vault event, the Lady Guard’s Sarah Walker soared through the air at a height of 8’-6”, elevating her to a seventh place finish.

Brook Hill’s Grace Brasher was recognized as the State Runner-up in the women’s high jump competition, as she leaped into second place with a jump of 5’-02”.

The final athlete to compete for Brook Hill at the 2018 TAPPS 5A Track and Field Championships was Garrett Davis, who finished in sixth place in the men’s high jump contest with a leap of 5’-10”.
