The Guard stayed close until the end of the game when they fouled the visiting Lutheran team and they made seven straight free-throws.

Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Lady Guard took on #19 in the state, Canyon Creek, falling short with a score of 36-16.

The Lady Guard tried several things, including a slow-down offense, but nothing seemed to work.

“We thought we were prepared but I take responsibility for the loss,” head coach Ricky Clements said. “I tried some things and they didn’t work.”

Williams had seven points and seven rebounds while Anderson had six points and nine rebounds.

The Lady Guard were scheduled to travel to Garland Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 24 and then to Dallas Shelton Friday, Jan. 27. The Lady Guard are now 9-8 on the season and 2-3 in district play.
