Covalt, Hatten picked for Azalea All-Star Game

CHRISTINA HATTEN CHRISTINA HATTEN TYLER - The Eighth Annual Azalea Orthopedics All-Star high school basketball games are scheduled for Saturday, April 2 at Tyler Junior College‘s Wagstaff Gymnasium and although there are no male representatives from either Bullard High or Brook Hill, the ladies squad includes Lady Panthers all-district players Ally Covalt, and all-region player, Christina Hatten.

The games, sponsored by Azalea Orthopedics, give East Texas seniors the opportunity to showcase their talents for colleges and hometown fans.

The event had been held at UT Tyler’s Herrington Patriot Center.

Area seniors were nominated by their high school coaches and are selected by an All Star selection panel.

The Girls East All-Stars will be made up of CeCe Jimmerson, Daingerfield; LeAundra Jackson, Mineola; Ashley Gadson, Sabine; Tasia Washington, REL; Amber Langhoff, Winnsboro; Alex Smith. Jacksonville; CHRISTINA HATTEN, BULLARD; ALLY COVALT, BULLARD; Sarah Cargill, Lindale; Kayley Coggin, Whitehouse; and head coach Dana Irvin, Daingerfieldl assistant coach, Katy Baskins, Daingerfield, and assistant coach Engra Patt, Daingerfield.


ALLY COVALT ALLY COVALT The Girls West All-Stars named to the team were Jamie Manis, LaPoyner, Joanna Daniel, Martins Mill; Amanda Rucker, Grand Saline; Cambridge Bosworth, All Saints; asey Maxvill, Rains; LaKrystal Robertson, JT; Sara Springer, Mabank; Alex Jenkin, Buffalo; Hillary Shaffer, Brownsboro; head coach Keith Durrett, LaPoyner, assistant coach Kody Evans, LaPoyner, and assistant coach, Dean Nuckolls, LaPoyner.

The Boys East All-Star roster includes Taylor Tucker, REL; Jonathan Jones, Henderson; Connor Sharp, White Oak,; Craig Schambach, Grace; James Jordan, West Rusk; Andrew Brown, Arp; Luke McElroy, Arp; John Brisco, Pine Tree; Tradarreon Moreland, Jacksonville; Nick Palmer, Whitehouse; head coach Burt Langley, West Rusk, assistant coach Justin Hunley, and assistant coach John Eastman, West Rusk.

The Boys West All-Stars nominated are C.J. Wagner, Cayuga; Dalvin Campbell, Cayuga; Trent Jurica, Wills Point; T.G. Green, Mabank; Taylor Phelps, Grand Saline; Desmond Bowie, Athens; Nick Monmouth, Athens; McMichael Jamison, JT; Phillip Jordan, JT; head coach Jeremy Jenkins, Cayuga, assistant coach, att Nally, Frankston.

The girls game is slated for 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by the boys at approximately 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

All proceeds will be donated to the Bethesda Clinic.
