The musical group consisted of lead singer Shana Strange, backup singer Heather Schultz, guitarist Reese Dean, and percussionist Justin Romack.

Also joining them on stage in two songs were fifth-grade students. They sang with Strange in “O Happy Day” and “Sing a New Song.”

Strange and her band continued to perform a mini-concert for the student body of the Lower School with “Mighty to Save” and “Rescue.”

The recording artist then spoke with the students, ages 4 to 11 years, sharing inspirational words of her childhood challenges, insecurities, and fears that she was able to conquer through God’s grace. It was those experiences that led her to writing the song, “Rescue.” Following Strange, Dean also spoke to the assembly.

He encouraged students to listen to God and follow His lead for their lives.

Dean told them to persevere in achieving their dreams and to do their best in everything.

The fifth-grade students said getting this “oncein a-lifetime opportunity” to stand on stage and sing along with a recording artist as talented as Shana Strange was “awesome,” “cool,” and “a wonderful experience” they appreciated.
