RUSK - The Crockett Bulldogs plastered the Rusk Eagles, 54-6, Friday night. Rusk (0-2) was led by Chaston Bennett’s 60 yards on 10 carries. Montrell Sessions added 53 yards and Rusk’s only touchdown (20 yards) in the third quarter.Rusk plays another home game next Friday against Gladewater. The kickoff is 7:30 p.m

TYLER - Chapel Hill scored the game’s first points on a trick play. It was all Wildcats from there. Bulldaog quarterback, Saenz struggled after his six-touchdown performance last week, completing just 15 of 35 for 213 yards with two interceptions.

LONGVIEW - Cameron Darty carried 25 times for 117 yards and a touchdown as Athens held on for a 28-19 win over Spring Hill on Friday night. The Hornet speedster turn in scoring plays of 78, 50, 48, 41 and 39 yards. Darty carried five times for 24 yards on the first scoring drive.

BROWNSBORO – The Van Vandals took an exciting 28-22 overtime win over the Brownsboro Bears last Friday night. Bear qb, Ryan Owens threw for 249 yards and a pair of touchdowns. However Van’s Troy Parsons hit Colby Rucker for two TD’s in regulation. The same combo hooked up for a 25-yard score in overtime to ream unbeaten at 2-0. The Bears fall to 1-1 as they entertain Crandall this week.
