NACOGDOCHES - Former Panther trackster, Keaton Boyd has earned a spot on the Stephen F. Austin track team after a recent try-out on Sept. 1 at Fletcher Garner Track at Homer Bryce Stadium.

Boyd has the best 800- meter and 400-meter times in BHS track history and was elated over making the team.

“We went out and ran some sprints first,” said the freshman Lumberjack, Boyd. “But then we ran a 600-meter run and I caught the coaches attention then.

“Before the day was over, the coach (Lou Snelling) handed me about a 30-page book that he told me “to read it and fill it out, get it back to me quick, your running for me.”
