NASCAR Truck Series driver David Starr is scheduled to be in Bullard on Sept. 15 to speak to students at two Bullard schools and sign autographs.
The autograph session is set to begin at 5 p.m., with Starr’s race truck, in front of Ra’Ks.
His visit is sponsored by WRL Construction and the Bullard Education Foundation, and is part of efforts to raise money for the foundation.
“After a very successful first year, where the foundation awarded almost $27,000 in grants to BISD students and staff, formally recognized 17 seniors for their educational and personal achievements and gave away four scholarships, we have established even higher goals for year 2,” a press release said.
An opportunity to begin bidding on silent-auction items for the fish fry will be available in conjunction with Starr’s visit.
Items include two ticket packages to Texas Motor Speedway for first-turn seats, VIP passes, garage tour and pit-row access.
Other upcoming events include the Hook’ed on Education fishing tournament at The Villages Lake Palestine Marina on Sept. 18.
On Sept. 24, before Bullard High School’s homecoming game, a fish fry and silent auction are scheduled at Bullard High School.
Also, the Employee Giving campaign is going strong, the press release said.
“The amount of participation in the Employee Giving campaign has been overwhelming. It is awesome to see the staff of BISD believing in each other, believing in the mission of the Bullard Education Foundation, and believing in the children of this district.”
All contributions to the foundation stay in the Bullard Independent School District and are tax-deductible.
