The Bullard Banner News takes a moment to get to know its business community.

Michelle Cunningham is this week’s featured guest. She is a doctor of optometry at Gold Eye Clinic at 10692 Farm-to-Market Road 346 W., in Flint.

Q: Where did you grow up and what brought you to Bullard?

A: I was born in Kingsville. My family worked the King Ranch horses for five generations. Marriage brought me to East Texas. My husband grew up in Troup.

Q: What were you known for in high school?

A: For being the most versatile. I did everything — band, athletics, choir. I did it all.

Q: Who is your hero?

A: Mother Teresa, because of her selflessness.

Q: When you are not working, what do you do?

A: I sing with the fivetime international champion ladies acapella group, “Rich Tones,” which is affiliated with the Sweet Adelines. Also, youth ministry at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and working on the Red, White, and Blue Festival with the chamber.

Q: What do you want folks to know about your business?

A: That we offer pediatric and geriatric services, along with normal services and a complete range of services for the visually impaired.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Bullard?

A: The size, because I grew up in a small town. It still feels like a small town. The main street, and the people are friendly.
