From Russia with basketball
JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville College Lady Jaguars’ accountability grew about 6’2 for the upcoming NJCAA Region 14 play, as Jacksonville College recently signed Daria Kryuchova (cruchkova).
Lady Jag head basketball coach, Lynn Nabi received word from Moscow, Russia, that the 6’2 post player who had been on Nabi’s wish-list for a long time, had made the decision to become a member of the JC women’s basketball squad.
Nabi stated that Kryuchova is slated to visit the United States Embassy in Moscow later this month to get her final diplomatic clearance to make the trek to Jacksonville.
The scouting report on Kryuchova indicates that she will provide solid interior play, based on her experience and overall physical strength.
Kryuchova is the second international player that the Lady Jags have inked for the 2010-2011 campaign, as JC has also added Hannah Yammouni out of Australia. The Lady Jags finished 15-15 last year and qualified for the regional tournament.
