Water board conducts random test of area well

By DON TREUL

Not every Texas town gets a thumb’s up when it comes to grading the source of its drinking water.

The Texas Water Development Board selected the well source for Bullard water to help the board determine the baseline quality of the groundwater in the area and to detect any significant changes in the quality which may have occurred since the last sampling, according to Chris Miller, ground water program specialist for TWDB.

According to the results, which are tested before treatment, and therefore may not be indicative of water drawn from a tap in households, the Bullard source of water is good quality drinking water.

“We’re very pleased to be picked by the [Texas] Water Development Board to test our water,” said Bullard City Manager Larry Morgan. “And we’re equally pleased that the test came back as good as it did.”
