Suzanne Warden, a member of the Bullard High School Key Club, was elected as the 2010-2011 Texas-Oklahoma District Secretary during the T-O District Convention in Dallas in April. Additionally, BHS Key Clubber Rachel Rieger will serve a second term as Division 26 Lieutenant Governor.

Having recently attended STAR training, a weekend geared specifically for training newly elected officers, Warden has already begun her duties. Each month she will receive reports from Key Clubs all over Texas and Oklahoma, in which each club touts their accomplishments for the month. All of this information must be condensed by Warden and submitted to the district and international offices of Key Club. Although these are her main duties, she will also be expected to assist clubs with their reports, as necessary, and serve on the district board in various capacities.

RACHEL RIEGER RACHEL RIEGER During the week of July 6, Warden attended the Key Club International Convention in Memphis, Tenn., where she represented Texas-Oklahoma. She will receive additional training and work alongside Key Clubbers from around the world, as they strive to increase awareness of the programs that affect children and our “homes, schools, and communities.”

“I expect to meet new people, be more outgoing, and develop myself as a leader during ICON,” said Warden.

Rieger was elected by the clubs of division 26 to continue to serve as the liaison between the Texas-Oklahoma district board and about 10 local clubs in the East Texas area. Rieger also serves on the district board with various assignments, which mainly include keeping the local clubs informed of what is happening at the district and international levels.

Key Club is a community service organization sponsored by the Bullard Area Kiwanis. “KEY” is an acronym which stands for “Kiwanis Educates Youth.” Anyone interested in joining Kiwanis in making a difference in the lives of children not only in the Bullard community, but in communities worldwide, can join them as a guest to find out more. Kiwanis meets at noon each Tuesday at the FUMCBullard (corner of Cain and Rather).
