Bullard students receive achievement scholarships
KEATON BOYD Bullard High School
Austin Bank awarded $35,500 in college scholarships to 31 East Texas high school students as part of its Commitment-to- Community program that supports the educational goals of area youth.
Among this year’s scholarship recipients are two Bullard area students, including:
Keaton Boyd, son of Terry and Cissy Boyd of Bullard, who graduated from Bullard High School; and Megan Troxell, daughter of Wade Troxell of Flint, who graduated from Brook Hill High School.
Scholarship recipients included 2010 graduates from 25 high schools within the East Texas. This year’s recipients include 24 students from the community and seven students who are children of Austin Bank employees.
Scholarship recipients were selected based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activity involvement, leadership qualities and an essay contest.
