Prince is valedictorian, du Preez named salutatorian at Bullard HS
BULLARD VALEDICTORIAN KORY PRINCE
Commencement exercises for Bullard High School seniors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at the Vivian and Bob Smith Gymnasium, Lon Morris College in Jacksonville.
The 2010 BHS Valedictorian is Kory Prince, and the 2010 BHS Salutatorian is Regan du Preez.
Honor Graduates also include Emily Long, Susan Lowrie, Chris Braaten, Sonja Armstrong, Lana Thompson, Breanna Hinton, Erin Kipp, Katie Worrell, Courtnie Watkins, Paula Paulson and Hillary Kempton.
Prince is the son of Kenny and Karen Prince. He will attend the University of Texas at Tyler and will major in electrical engineering.
While at BHS, Prince received the following honors and awards:
• Voted Most Likely to Succeed
• Rotary Club Young Citizenship Award
• Outstanding Senior Award from All East Texas Academic Team (Texas Association of Secondary School Principals)

He also was Senior Class President; Vice President of National Honor Society; a member of the Model United Nations (2nd Best GA Delegation); and he participated in UIL, Science Club and Spanish Club.
He also is a member of Greater Life Church (Founding Member; Webmaster, Singer, Musician, Builder); Tyler Tabernacle (Ensemble and Choir Member); and he is employed at Bullard ISD as a computer technician.
Salutatorian Regan du Preez is the daughter of Kelvin and Lisa du Preez. She will attend Tyler Junior College and plans to major in the medical field.
While at Bullard High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society; she was the Science Club President and Copy Editor of Panther Post; she participated in UIL Academics and was a member of the International Honor Society for High School Journalists.
Her honors and awards included:
• UIL News Writing Regional Qualifier
• Voted Most Likely to Succeed
• Excellent rating in News Writing (Texas Association of Journalism Educators)
• Second Place in Headline Writing (International League Press Association)
She also is a volunteer for a Regional Building Committee (a volunteer organization that builds places of worship and engages in relief work).
