City seeking banking services contract
The Bullard City Council agreed to a request for proposal from city administration for a banking services contract for the three-year period of Oct. 1 through Sept. 31, 2013, at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, May 11.
Administrators said it is the goal of the city to minimize banking costs, improve operational efficiency and maximize investments capabilities.
Interested banks should contact the city which will require a standard reply format.
In other action, the council agreed to replace the computer server, technology back-up system, UPS, firewall and the labor to install the equipment. The cost will be $14,965, and the monthly lease payment will be $650 per month.
Council members agreed to renew a contract with the Bullard Community Library; approved action regarding the final plat of property in the K&S Subdivision on East Henderson Street; and tabled action regarding an ordinance regulating drilling of water wells.
Bullard City Manager Larry Morgan said administrators started the budget process for next year’s city budget; that the city is working with TXU to lower the kilowatt hour cost for power used by the city, perhaps as much as .04 per kilowatt hour; the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ruled in favor of the city regarding a hearing concerning the proposed sewer plant; property taxes are “holding steady” for the year; city administrators are determining the need for another inlet/outlet for Summerset Drive and my use the existing alley if possible; and that the city is also working with Cherokee County Commissioners regarding rebuilding Schoolhouse Road.
At a special-called meeting, the council agreed to award a bid for the Courtney Drive drainage; and approved payment of $2,210 to Capco Engineering for engineering services.
