It’s finally the month of May and school’s almost out, which means June will be here soon and it’s Disney time.

The Bullard High School band will be performing at the Disney Parade June 3 and will come back June 9. The band performs at Disney World every two years and the seniors also have a senior trip. We have worked very hard for this trip and been in our own fund-raisers to raise money over more than a thousand dollars. Each student individually has to bring over $250 just for refreshments and souvenirs.

I think personally it will be so much fun. My sister and I have wanted to go to Disney since we saw our first Disney movie. I am now 15 and I’m happier than a little kid on coffee. My main goal when I get there is to talk to Cinderella and film it. Everybody knows how her story goes — she go to the ball, has to be home by midnight, and leaves her shoe for the prince to find her. Personally she could have grabbed her shoe. Yes, a guy was chasing her, but she was right there. Couldn’t she bend down for half a second and pick it up? Again, that’s just me. I know that’s what makes the movie good though.

After Disney will come the end of June and July is next, and that’s family vacation time. We usually go on vacation the Fourth of July weekend and that’s one of the craziest holidays of July. One of the main spots we go is Gulf Shores, Alabama. I prefer Destin Florida where we went a couple of years ago. That is one of my favorite things I like about summer — that and no school! After July is August and that’s my birthday and band camp. I’m excited for my birthday, but not band. Band is the same thing over and over again.

This summer is only a few weeks’ away, then my junior year starts. I am not excited for that. A lot of people are excited to graduate and get out of here, but not me. You can’t repeat this high school life over, so I’m just enjoying it while I can. One step at a time. There’s no need to rush, according to the words of Jordan Sparks.
