Registration slated for May 3-5 for kindergarten classes

Bullard ISD will offer full day Pre-Kindergarten for qualifying students beginning in August 2010.

The program will be at Bullard Primary School and will serve students from 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. daily. Students will be eligible to ride district transportation in the morning and afternoon. The program will be for students qualifying based on income, non English speaking, a guardian that is in active military service or students that are homeless.

Pre-registration of students will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3-5, at Bullard Primary School. Students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, and live in the Bullard ISD. Items that will be needed for registration are:

Proof of residency — water or electric bill with current physical address — if you are living with another family you will need to visit with Linda Howland at central administration before coming to enroll;

Proof of Pre-Kindergarten eligibility (one of the following) — current check stubs of all household members, 2009 tax return, SNAP/TANF eligibility number, completed homeless form at registration, documentation from armed forces stating current military service or a student that does not speak English;

Certified birth certificate; certified immunization record; enrolling parent’s driver’s license – with current physical address.

“The school is very excited to be able to provide this opportunity to parents and students and hope that families will register,” said Michelle Hurst, primary principal, Bullard Independent School District.

The curriculum will follow the Pre-Kindergarten guidelines as set forth by the state of Texas and students will participate in other developmentally appropriate activities. For additional information, contact the school office at (903) 894- 6389.

“We are looking forward to serving many 4 year old students.” Hurst said.
