Journalism students at Bullard High School won awards in a clip contest sponsored by the Texas Association of Journalism Educators in February.

In feature writing, junior Ciera Weston and sophomore Sarah Grace French earned superior ratings, which the highest honor awarded in the contest. Senior Allie Wade received an excellent rating for feature writing and an honorable mention in editorial writing.

Senior Regan du Preez earned an excellent rating in news writing and an honorable mention in editorial writing. French also received an honorable mention for her sports column entry.

The UIL team brought home several medals from a recent meet in Whitehouse.

French won the feature writing contest and senior Teja King won the headline writing contest. Wade earned a second-place medal in editorial writing. In news writing, du Preez received a silver medal while her teammate King placed fourth.
