The Spirit of St. Louis Therapeutic Riding Center of Tyler will host the Area 7 Special Olympics Equestrian Show at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at the Tyler Saddle Club in Mt. Selman.

The sponsor for this year’s event is Brookshire Grocery Co. A total of 14 athletes will participate, 12 of whom are from the Tyler area. Volunteers will be needed to help as leaders for the horses and sidewalkers for the athletes. Local athletes will participate in English Equitation and Working Trail classes. They range in age from 10-59 years old, and some have been riding for more than 10 years, while others have just taken up the sport.
