City agrees to contract for emergency services

By DON TREUL

The Bullard City Council finalized the agreement with East Texas Medical Center EMS for ambulance services during the monthly meeting Tuesday, April 13.

The base rates will include $440 for non-emergency transport; $750 for emergency transport; $875 for ALS2 transport; and $1,025 for special care transport. Additionally, mileage will cost $10.50 for nonemergency and $12.06 for emergency.

In other action, the council approved a request for an easement across Helmirch and Payne Drilling property located between U.S. Highway 69 and F.M. 2493; and agreed to a payment of $1,985 to Capco Engineering for services pertaining to the Courtney Drive project.

The board tabled action regarding an ordinance regulating drilling for water wells.

“I have a problem with the ordinance,” said Bullard City Councilmember Rick Kindle. “Rather than saying no wells in the city, I think we need to be more specific.”

The council will consider the ordinance more closely before taking additional action.
