Bullard’s Hughes: a master of flippin’ tricks
Bullard junior, Haven Hughes recently competed in the Rose City
Classic 2010, held at All Saints Episcopal School. Hughes took a firstplace
on the uneven bars, with a score of 9.2 and 5th place all around.
Her performanace qualified Hughes for state meet to be held in Denton
at TWU, on March 27, 2010. Haven is coached by Martin and Stacy
Parsley at Texas East Gymnastics in Tyler. Above left, Haven poses on
the beam for a picture, during a recent workout at Texas East
Gymnastics. Haven also helps the younger classes and is a mentor to several
of the younger gymnasts. Above right, one of the TEG instructors
talks to her young class about the recent success of Hughes, while
Hughes gave a few encouraging words about hard work and sacrifice to
the younger athletes.
