The question of what to do with recyclable trash in Bullard has been answered.
Take it to the bin.
The city of Bullard obtained a grant of about $7,000 from East Texas Council of Governments, solid waste grant project to purchase a bin to use to recycle some waste or trash. The bin is located west of the Bullard City Hall building (behind the police department).
It’s big and it’s bright blue, so it is hard to miss. The bin is for Bullard citizens only and is not to be used for regular household trash.
“The City of Bullard has recently taken a positive step in the area of removal of debris in our landscape.,” said Bullard Mayor Teresa Adams-Wilks. “City staff successfully applied for a recycling program, complete with a recycling bin.”
Recycled waste such as paper (including newspaper), certain plastics such as soft drink and milk jugs, and aluminum and tin will be allowed. Materials placed in the bin are divided and signs indicate where materials will be deposited.
Bullard residents may use the recycle bin from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We invite the public to be a part of this program and recycle,” Adams-Wilks said. “Remember, no part of recycling is too small to be effective.”
Cardboard to be recycled must be bundled and must not be coated with plastic or wax; newspaper must not be wet; no plastic grocery bags; aluminum and tin cans should be clean of food; plastic shelves, hard bottle tops, and plastic toys and packing materials will not be allowed; used oil cans will not be allowed; and no glass waste products should be recycled.
