(Photo by Doc Smith) EDGEWOOD – Hot off a 5-0 record in the North Texas Tournament of Champions, the Panthers Rumble-O’d the Edgewood Bulldogs, in a 16-2 , five inning game at Bulldog Field on Tuesday.

Playing, minus several track participants and a few starters, Bullard pounded out six extra base hits, and Nick Rumbelow improved to 3-0 on the mound, throwing 16 pitches and five straight strikeouts, to start his three innings of no-hit pitching and the win.

After two quick runs to start off the game, Rumbelow began his gun-down, as he struck out six, and walked one.

At the plate, the LSU bound senior was just as deadly.

Nick aided his cause, with a two-RBI triple in the six-run, fifth-inning that ended the game via the ten-run mercy rule, after the Bulldogs at-bat.

The elder Rumbelow was joined by his freshman younger brother, Trevor at the plate, as both doubled in runs in the game, and went 2-for-3 with three RBI’s and three runs scored.

Edgewood touched up Panther pitching, for a double and a homer, on back-toback hitters in their fourth inning, for the only Bulldog runs in the game.

Bullard’s Tanner Bailey came on to shut Edgewood down, with two strikeouts in one and two-thirds innings, for the lefty.

Bailey hit his third homerun of the season, with a right-centerfield smash in the fourth inning, to finish off a 2-for-4 at the plate. Bailey had two strikeouts and allowed two hits, in picking up the save.

Nolan Rose scored four runs, with a nice job of hitting with his back, reaching on three hit batsmen, and also scoring after a walk.

Bullard went undefeated in the Fort Worth-North Texas Tournament of Champions this past weekend, and improve to 6-0 on the year, with the Oil Belt Tournament in Kilgore this weekend.
