BHS takes second at TKG’s Fly Hill Relays
TYLER – The boys and girls track teams took second place in respective divisions this past Thursday, at McCallum Stadium on the T.K. Gorman campus.
Carthage won the boys division, outpointing the Panthers 147-130. Center took third as a team, with 94 points, while T.K. Gorman slipped by Brook Hill for fourth place 94-60.
The TAPPS state track power, Gorman ran away with the girls division, behind 80 points from four relay wins.
David French took top honors in the discus throw, ahead of Brook Hill’s Courtney Thomas.
Thomas came back to win the shotput event, while Sammy Ferrera placed fourth for Bullard.
Guard multi-event star Austin Langemeier took fourth in the high jump, and second in the 3200-meter run in his first meet of the season.
Justin Tadlock won the long jump, with Santiago Escobar in fifth place.
Panthers Keaton Boyd and Hunter Skelton finished first and second in the 400-meter run, while Kirk Bryant took second in both the 110-meter and 30-meter hurdle events, as well as a fifth place in the long jump.
Donald Sulser was third and fourth respectively, in the 3200-meter and 1600- meter runs.
For the Lady Panthers, Bailee Callens won the 1600-meter run and the 3200- meter runs, and ran a leg on the secondplace 1600-meter relay. Courtnie Wilborn took fifth in the 3200-meter run and added more points with a sixth-place, in the 1600- meter behind Callens.
Deborah Thompson took second in the long jump, fourth n the triple jump, and the final leg of the point-winning 400 and 800 meter relay teams. Carley Sigler and Rachel Wall were fourth and sixth in the 200-meter run.
In the field, Ashley Ricci also took first place in the high jump for Bullard, while Erika Delatoore was third in the shotput and fourth in the discus.
Gorman won with 209 points to Bullard’s 94, followed by Jasper (77), and All Saints in fourth place, with 26 points. Grace Community placed seventh with 20 points, while Christian Heritage took eighth place over Shelbyville.
The Panthers will host the Panther Relays on March 20, after Spring Break.
