Bullard FFA members win at calf scramble in San Antonio stock show

(Courtesy Photo) Bullard 4-H and FFA youth competed for $800 certificates to purchase breeding animals to exhibit in the 2010 San Antonio Junior Livestock Show calf scramble Saturday, Feb. 6, at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Twelve certificates were awarded to participants who caught a calf, including the following four Bullard FFA members:

Walker Roach, a tenth -grade student at Bullard High School plans to purchase a beef animal with his award.

Jesse Duplechin, a ninth grade student, plans to purchase a sheep or a goat with his award.

Josh Martin an 11th grader, plans to purchase a swine animal with his award.

Austin Gwartney of Jacksonville, is a ninth grader who participates in Bullard FFA. He plans to purchase a beef animal with his award.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo committed $8.1 million to education, which represents scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock auctions, calf scramble program and show premiums paid to youth in the state of Texas.
