Bullard students, educators participate in spelling bee
Bullard students and educators participated in the Scripps National Spelling Bee at the Tyler Public Library. Participants included Sheila Bishop-Smith County Spelling Bee Coordinator; Cameron Sanson, Alternate Champion, Bullard Middle School eight grade; Sarah Campbell, tied for seventh, Bullard Intermediate School fifth grade; Amy Bickerstaff, BISD district coordinator; and Clay Rowden, tied for fifth, Bullard Intermediate School sixth grade. Cameron Sanson, and eighth-grade student from Bullard Middle School was the alternate champion in the Smith County Division of the Scripps National Spelling Bee held at the Tyler Public Library auditorium
Maria Chroneos, also an eighth-grade student, from Moore Magnet School in Tyler was the champion. She will participate in the Regional Spelling Bee March 20 in Dallas on. In the event Chroneos is unable to attend the regional meet, Sanson would be eligible to take her place.
Also participating in the National Spelling Bee from Bullard were Clay Rowden, a sixth-grade student from Bullard Intermediate School who tied for fifth place; and Sarah Campbell, a fifthgrade student from Bullard Intermediate School who tied for seventh place.
Amy Bickerstaff was the BISD district coordinator; Sheila Bishop was the Smith County Spelling Bee Coordinator; and Bullard Elementary teacher Cindy Browning prepared the reception cake.
