Bullard PD hires two new officers

Stuart Alexander, 23, was hired as a Bullard Police Officer. He will fill a void left by Sgt. Bryan Richards, who left the Bullard Police Department after five years to work with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

Alexander, who is not married, graduated from Martins Mill High School and attended Tyler Junior College and Trinity Valley Community College in Athens. He attended the East Texas Police Academy and received his Peace Officer’s Commission in October 2008. He has been working as an officer for the Chandler Police Department for two years.

Alexander lives in Athens but will be moving to the Bullard area.

Brandon Wayne McIntyre, 28, of Troup, was hired as a reserve officer for the Bullard Police Department. He has been a reserve officer for the Smith County Constable’s Office, Precinct 3, since 2006.

McIntyre graduated from Whitehouse High School and attended Tyler Junior College. He co-owns McIntyre Plumbing in Troup and is married. He and his wife, Julie, have one daughter.

“We’re glad to have them here,” said Bullard Police Chief Gary Don Lewis. “They both have good backgrounds in law enforcement.”

Alexander and McIntyre were sworn in Friday, Feb. 19, as Bullard Police Officer by Bullard City Secretary Doris Crockett.
