Quilters Guild of East Texas move to new location at next meeting
Quilters’ Guild of East Texas meeting will move to the First Baptist Church, South Campus, Thursday, Feb. 11.
The church is located at the southwest corner of U.S. Highway 69 and F.M. 2813. Driving south on Broadway, the entrance is ¼ mile south of Texas Toll Road 49. The other entrance off F.M. 2813 is marked by three flagpoles.
Beth Ferrier will be the guest speaker for both the 10 a.m. and the 7 p.m. meetings. She is known throughout the quilt world as outrageously funny and the title of her talk “Finishing is Highly Overrated” certainly fits. Her workshop “Sneaky Piecing Tricks” will be Friday at the church.
The deadline for quilt show entries will be Feb. 11. There is an entry form on the Web site and more will be available at the meeting. Attendees should be sure bring a photo of a quilt and the size (width and length in inches) if planning to fill out a form at the meeting.
The guild library has been moved, so members are reminded to return library books so others can enjoy them.
Those whose last name begins with the letters O, P, Q, or R will need to bring finger food treats to the morning meeting for the social hour.
Non-members are invited. For more information about the guild or the quilt show, check out the Web site at www.qgetx.org.
