Swordsmen dulled by Brook Hill bombs and pressure defense
GARLAND – After already sweeping Garland Christian just a few days ago, Brook Hill took to the road and repeated the sweep with three wins, at Garland Christian last Tuesday.
Jeremey Chappele and Mason Spradlin combined for 26 points in the win, as the boys remained undefeated in league play with a 7-0 record, while Garland lost their second league game at the hands of The Guard, 57-32.
The Lady Guard came closer to wrapping up a playoff berth, with a 45- 35 win over the Lady Swords.
The senior combo of Erica Eden at guard, and Dara Udom inside, combined for almost enough points to get the win, totaling 30 point in the win.
The Lady Guard took a 26-20 lead in at the half, after a slow start and trailing 107 after one period.
A tough Lady Guard defense held Garland Christian to single digits in the final two quarters, while Udom scored nine of her 14 points in the second half of play.
Brook Hill plays The Shelton School of Dallas later in the week, and with wins, both teams would clinch
TAPPS playoff berths.
