No. 1 Guard slays Lions; Lady Guard comes up short but playoff bound
DALLAS – Brook Hill basketball is playoff-bound, and they celebrated such on Senior Night this past Tuesday, against All Saints.
This past Saturday, the Guard had to settle for a league split against Dallas Lutheran, as the boys remain untouched in district, and the girls slipped to 6-5 in league play, but are still playoff-bound.
Friday night, Mason Spradlin, Jeremey Chappelle, Zac Cool, Courtney Thomas, Erica Eden, Dara Udom, Jenny Anderson and Michelle Stephenson will be recognized along with their families, as they play their final regular season game, in between contests.
BOYS GAME
Mason Spradlin scored 18 points, including a big shot, to put the Guard up five with less than three minutes to play, as Bullard Brook Hill held off Dallas Lutheran, 63-52 in the boys win.
The Guard (24-3, 11-0 TAPPS 4- 3A) struggled shooting the ball, but pulled away, thanks to Spradlin’s bucket and 17 points from Tyler Baker, including some late free throws.
Jeremey Chappelle had 10 points and eight rebounds, for first-place Brook Hill.
GIRLS GAME
It was not by any means basketball at its best, but the Dallas Lutheran Lady Lions held on for a 41-28 win over the Lady Guard, on Saturday.
The Lady Lions defense held Brook Hill to single digits in all four quarters, while jumping to a 34-1 halftime lead.
Caroline Klein scored 10 of her game-high points in that first half, as Lutheran took command.
Brook Hill buckets were too far in-between in the game, led by Jenny Anderson, with six-points.
