Coaches vs. Cancer game raises hopes and $$$
      The Bullard Lady Panthers embarked on a mission supporting Coaches Vs Cancer this last Friday night, as BHS took a sweep over Tatum in District 17-3A play. Before the game, Tatum joined in by wearing pink T-shirts, and both the Panthers boys and girls teams sported pink headbands and socks to show their support on the court.

Lady Panthers look pretty in pink; bomb away on Tatum for 74-47 win in district to maintain top spot
      BULLARD – The Lady Panthers Coaches vs. Cancer was a huge success both on the court and in the stands, as it was a pink-laden audience and Bullard teams, as the Lady Panthers swept Tatum last Friday night. Minta Spears started the scoring with a 3-pointer, and finished with only 12 points, but her down the court passing led to numerous Bullard lay ups.

Bullard realignment brings Rusk to loop
      AUSTIN – The new UIL district alignments were released on Monday, and Bullard is back to playing some old nemesis’, according to the information released. The district number will remain the same, as District 17-3A, and Bullard and Chapel Hill the only two school remaining from the past setup.

Lady Buckeyes no test for 13th-ranked Bullard
     GILMER - The 17th-ranked Lady Panthers remain undefeated in district 17-3A action, with a 60-22 win over Gilmer on Tuesday, at Buckeye Gymnasium. After a slow start, Heather Camp broke the ice for Bullard with a 3- pointer at the 5:20 mark, as Bullard took a 12-6 lead after the opening period.

Panthers hand Tatum first league loss
      BULLARD – The Bullard Panthers gave Tatum their first district loss on Friday night, with a 79-57 win at Panther Gymnasium. Bullard’s Josiah Rosebury led all scorers in the game with 19 points, as the Panthers built a 36-30 lead at the half.

Gilmer stuns Panthers with first loop setback
      GILMER – There are many different reasons a BHS basketball fan could argue for the downfall and upset loss to Gilmer, this past week. Bottom line….you have to make shots when you are three feet from the basket, and the Bullard Panthers just could not buy a basket, in a 50-45 loss to the athletic Buckeyes.

No. 1 Guard slays Lions; Lady Guard comes up short but playoff bound
      DALLAS – Brook Hill basketball is playoff-bound, and they celebrated such on Senior Night this past Tuesday, against All Saints. This past Saturday, the Guard had to settle for a league split against Dallas Lutheran, as the boys remain untouched in district, and the girls slipped to 6-5 in league play, but are still playoff-bound.

Brook Hill boys and girls wrap up state playoff bids
      BULLARD- The Brook Hill School basketball teams clinched playoff spots on Thursday night, with a sweep over The Shelton School of Dallas, at Herrington gymnasium. The second-ranked Guard rode 24 points from Jeremey Chappelle to a 63-42 win, to remain undefeated in league play, with a 22-3 season mark and 8-0 in league play.

      GARLAND – After already sweeping Garland Christian just a few days ago, Brook Hill took to the road and repeated the sweep with three wins, at Garland Christian last Tuesday.

French-style catfish supper caught by six year-old
     Six year-old, Tanner French of Bullard, recently caught more than his weight, hauling in three blue catfish, for a total of 80-pounds combined. Tanner caught the fish in Lake Palestine over the Christmas break, fishing with his dad, Mickey, and uncle, Courtney French.
