Taylor was reassigned from his head football coaching duties this past week. Taylor will remain on board and is serving in some capacity with the BHS athletic department. Taylor was in his third-year at the helm of the Panthers program, posting a 10-20 record in his stint.
BULLARD - Bullard Independent School superintendent, Keith Bryant announced on Monday the reassignment of head football coach, Jim Taylor.
According to Bryant, Taylor will be resuming some athletic director duties, but no longer as the head football coach.
“The district is moving in a different direction and Coach Taylor has been reassigned from duties as head football coach,” Bryant said in a statement released on Monday afternoon.
“He is now performing other duties within the district, and we will begin our search for a replacement immediately.”
Bryant added, “Taylor will still resume some athletic director duties.”
Coming in from New Caney, in his three year stint at Bullard Taylor has a combined record of 10-20, with a 6-4 ledger in his first season.
Last season, the Panthers fell off to a 3-7, almost making the playoffs however, had they won the season finale against Spring Hill.
This season, short on depth and size, BHS posted only one win and a disappointing, 1-9 mark.
According to Taylor, “they have reassigned my head football coaching duties and adjusted my athletic director responsibilities.”
There were no additional coaching changes mentioned after talks with both Bryant and Taylor on Monday.
