BHS to present play
The Bullard High School Theater Department will be presenting a modern classic, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” as this year’s fall musical production.
The musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, in the Audry Owens Auditorium. There also will be a special matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20.
All seats are general admission. Tickets cost $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Call Bullard High School for tickets at (903) 894-3272, ext. 2163.
Following the performance, “Belle” and her friends will host a “magical princess tea party” in the West Wing of the “Enchanted Castle” (Bullard High School cafe- teria). Dress in princess gowns and bring a camera to meet the characters and enjoy refreshments and crafts immediately following Sunday’s matinee. Tea party tickets cost $5 per child at the door and $1 per adult.
The stage production of “Beauty and the Beast” is based on the Academy- Award winning animated feature (the first “cartoon” to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture). “Beauty and the Beast” is currently the sixth longest running musical in Broadway history and has been performed in 15 countries and seven languages around the world.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” features all the original songs by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman along with new songs by Alan Menken and Tim Rice.
