With the holidays just around the corner, Bullard High School Key Club has been involved in many activities involving the holidays.
One of the activities includes volunteering at King’s Storehouse in Tyler. The King’s Storehouse is a private and non-profit organization that distributes food locally. With the holidays near the Key Club decided to spend part of their day volunteering an extra day in November at King’s Storehouse. Key Clubbers spent 4 and a half hours bagging items such as beans, rice, and chicken. Overall, the Key Club was able to bag more than 8,000 pounds of food. The activity is a favorite of most key clubbers.
The Bullard High School Key Club has been volunteering at the King’s Storehouse for the past 10 years.
In addition to this club, members delivered more than 750 Christmas cards to the Smith County Red Cross for distribution to soldiers serving overseas. During the month of November, club members signed the cards at meetings and lunches. Club members also were able to donate 86 shoeboxes filled with gifts to Operation Christmas Child. The organization distributes these boxes to children around the world.
