Lindale soars to overtime win over Lady Panthers

LINDALE – The 12th-ranked, Bullard Lady Panthers had a tough night of shooting from the field, and dropped an overtime loss on the road to the Lindale Lady Eagles, 45-40 last week at the Lindale Eagle’s gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers (1-1), only scored in double-digits in two of five quarters, more importantly dropping the overtime period 11-6 to the Lady Eagles (3-0).
Sophomore guard, Minta Spears was an early hero sinking three, free throws for the final points at 33-33 to end regulation play and force the overtime period.
The scoring was spread out in the defensive battle, as Lady Panther, Kayla Welling was the leading scorer with 14 points, followed by Spears with 11, and Ashley Ricci with 10-points.
