Members of the Tyler Colony Society of Mayflower Descendants gathered Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Hamilton West Club Room, to celebrate the landing of the Pilgrims in the New World in the winter of 1620.

Gov. Carolyn Mc- Call presided over the meeting. Greetings were brought from the State Gov. Peggy Jared and State Elder Barbara Cobb. New members and guests were introduced.

A delicious covereddish luncheon was served and the true spirit of Thanksgiving was celebrated.

Following lunch, Dep. Gov. Betty Corcoran introduced the guest speaker, David Appleton of Duncanville. Appleton, a legal secretary, holds a bachelor of science degree in history. He is a member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Colony and is an internationally known lecturer and author. He spoke on the topic, “Heraldy, History and Mayflower Connections.”

He was well received by the group and presented an excellent program. Anyone who wishes to learn more about the Tyler Colony and eligiblity for membership, contact McCall at (903) 894-3697.
