Letter to The Editor

Festival
Dear Editor,

I never have time (or make the time) to write or express my views to anyone but I must say this. The article this week in the Panther Prowl by Allie Wade was so precious! I just wanted to tell her that.

Also, my husband and I attended the Red, White and Blue Festival as we have in the past couple of years. It is a very nice event and I’m proud Bullard does this. However, I think it is way too expensive. I bought $20 worth of tickets and shortly found out that a lot of the games, etc., didn’t even take the tickets — they only took cash! I think they need to post this in big letters at the ticket booth.

We had two grandchildren with us, ages 4 and 6, and I think I spent about $100. The kids and I didn’t even eat!

I just think that many families aren’t able to attend this community event. How does a young family, struggling with today’s economy and high living costs, not to mention unemployment, attend this event?

I know the idea is to make money but has anyone thought about how to make this more affordable for the community?
