BHS students host fund-raiser for ill senior
CLIFTON NORWOOD
Any illness can be difficult for a family to deal with, but cancer seems to be even more so.
Even with health insurance, a family usually will have a lot of out-of-pocket expenses. To that end, Bullard High School is helping to raise funds for one of its own. Clifton Norwood is fighting cancer and students will help raise funds to help offset some of the family’s medical expenses by not shaving.
Students can donate $25 toward the fund set up for Norwood and will be exempt from having to shave the remainder of the month of November. At the end of the month, the male student with the “best” beard will be awarded $25.
The “no shave” idea was promoted by Donna Jeffus, a BHS counselor and STUVCA advisor and Sarah Harris, the school nurse.
Jeffus said anyone can make a donation toward the fund by sending it to the high school in care of Jeffus at 1426 S. Houston St., Bullard, TX 75757 or drop the donation off at the high school campus, attention Jeffus. Students who wish can sponsor another student for the “no shave” fund-raiser.
