Gilmer wins a few battles; BHS wins war

The Lady Panthers (24-12-1; 6-4), will next play Huntington in bi-district play, on Tuesday night after press deadline, at Crockett Middle school gymnasium. BULLARD- The Bullard Lady Panthers earned their way in to the Region III playoffs but it did not come easily as Gilmer fought the Bullard bunch to a five game winner take-all
Valarie Roberts had 19 kills to lead the way upfront as Bullard won games one and three, 25-19, and 25-21. Gilmer fought back to win games two and four (19-25, 21-25), before closing out the fifth game with a 15-13 win.
The first game had five lead changes before Bullard took control with a 8-7 lead that grew to a 11-8 BHS lead.
Brittany Glover ended the first game with back-toback kills.
Game two went to the Lady Buckeyes after six ties, ad 10 unforced Bullard errors aided the win.
Glover, Ariel Hamby and Camp had great games at service in the game three win, before Gilmer evened the match up taking advantage of nine Lady Panthers unforced errors, and five service errors.
Field general, Heather Camp added 30 assists while Ariel Hamby added in 15 digs for Bullard (24-12- 1, 6-4) as they get set for the playoffs.
Bullard won the junior varsity matches 25-12, and 28-26, ending the year with a 8-2, league record. The freshmen team won 25-16, 21-25, and 25-20 to improve to 7-3 in league play.
WARM UP GAME
Bullard 3, Henderson 2
The Bullard Lady Panthers went the full fivegames on Friday to take a win over Henderson in playoff warm-up action at Panther Gymnasium. Bullard won by scores of 25-18, 23-25, 15-25, 25-12, 15-10.
Seniors, Valarie Roberts tallied 17 kills, 21 digs, two aces, and Nikki Coleman recorded 16 kills, 22 digs, 1one ace
Floor leaders, Heather Camp and Ariel Hamby made 14 and 15 assists, respectively, and Hamby added eight kills and 11 digs.
Brittany Glover had two solo blocks.
Sophomore, Chelsea Foreman made her varsity debut and helped paced the Lady Panthers with four aces, two kills, six assists, and four digs.
With a in over Huntington on Tuesday night in Crockett, Bullard would play a tough Brownsboro team on either Thursday, or Saturday, at All Saints in Tyler.
