The Lady Panthers got the roundball season off to a start on Saturday as they treked to Ennis to play the Class 4A, Lady Lions and Lancaster (4A)

According to BHS head coach, Greg Gay, the scrimmage went well with a new look offensively

The teams did not keep score, but went through, two, 20-minute running clock quarters against each team twice.

“The girls did great” said Gay, “and this was the best job of rebounding that I have ever had a team do.”

Gay continued, “Our offense got better and better as the day went on, and they did a good job on defense.

“Now we just have to keep working and getting better and see how everything comes together when we get our post players in from volleyball,” Gay concluded.

The Lady Panthers open the season on Nov. 10 playing at Tyler-Lee. The first home game is set for Nov. 24 against Jacksonville.

Playing on Saturday for the Lady Panthers were Minta Spears, Christina Hatten, Ally Covalt, Emmy Long, Ashley Phillips, Samantha Phillips, and Rachel Horton in the scrimmage.
