Storm damaged not from tornado

The National Weather Service has determined that the storm damage in Bullard Friday, Oct. 9, was not from a tornado.

According to, Science and Operations Officer Ken Falk of the NWS in Shreveport, Louis., the agency surveyed several storms that occurred that day but not the Bullard area. The agency did not have the manpower to Surveying survey everywhere. However, he said, all the damage surveyed was determined to be straight line wind damage, except for one “short tornado” near Farmersville, Louis.

“I feel confident the damage in the Bullard area is also from straight line winds,” Falk said. “We had a significant line of thunderstorms move through that area, which is consistent with producing straight line winds.”
