Baker to Chappelle throws Shelton district loss

BULLARD - The table is set for this Friday night in Dallas as the No. 2 ranked, Brook Hill Guard and the No. 4 ranked Dallas Lutheran Lions square off at SMU’s Ford Stadium this Friday night.

The Guard (7-1;4-0) man-handleds a playoff bound, Dallas-The Shelton School 40-7, on Friday Night.

Once again, The Guard offense need not wear anybody out with all the points they needed at halftime, the roster got another clean-up job surrendering a third quarter Shelton score

A fast-break Guard offense ran away with the contest led by junior quarterbck, Tyler Baker throwing for 329 yards and five touchdowns at Herrington Field.

But it was Baker that was cookin’ Baker, a junior, completed 16-of-19 passes while the sophomore wr/qb/rb, J.B. Moss was 5-of-9 for 59 yards throwing and another 42 running the ball.

Moss also grabbed three catches for 17 yards and kicked four extra-points.

Making key grabs for Brook Hill were Zac Cool with two catches for 53 yards and another qb/wr, Travis Pirtle came in to make three catches for 32 yards

The Linebacking duo of Tallen Harris and A.J. Minter continues to reak havoc for the Brook Hill defense. Minter had eight tackles, including three for loss while Harris was in on seven tackles and made one fumble recovery. Zac Coll also had an interception.

LOOKING AHEAD

Dallas Lutheran (6-2; 3-0 ) beat Garland Christian 54- 18, last Friday night in a game still missing a key Lions running back component for the second week. The Lions are the first true threat the Guard has faced in the past four season, and this game could feature a state champion. The Lions lost to TAPPS large schools Arlington Pantego (18-20), and Houston Lutheran-North (22-31). Lutheran has rolled up the points in wins over Houston Lutheran-South (48-35), a thriller over Scurry-Rosser (22- 19), Frisco Legacy Christian (35-22), All Saints 42-14. Lutheran bested Flower Mound-Coram Deo, 27-6 and last week’s Garland Christian win with 81 points in the last two games without their big fullback, Klembra in the Lutheran backfield.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-29 to Hwy. 80 through Forney to Houston exit but stay to left and look for Hwy. 75 exit on he right. Take Hwy. 75 north to Mockingbird Exit off of Hwy 75 and turn left. Ford Stadium is two blocks up on the right at the first light after the cross-over
