BMS 7th-graders split football games with Gladewater Cubs

BULLARD - Brentavia Henderson led the seventhgrade ‘A’ team Panthers over the Gladewater Cubs 38-22, with all three phases of the the game were hitting on all cylinders at the middle school’s Panther Staium on Thursday afternoon

The Panthers opened up by a the running back, Henderson running in for an early touchdown run coupled with a two-point conversion and the 8-0 lead.

Henderson had his best gaem of the season as he accouned for 30 of the 38 points with three more touchdowns and conversion runs.

Panther, Cade Wood added a big touchdown catch from Conner Mebane in the third quarter which is the first touchdown catch by a Panther receiver this season. Zach Eschberger also sangged a clutch grab from Mebane.

The Panther defense play outstanding last night with a storm of Panthers on every play last night.

“It was a great job by the defense, special teams, and the offensive line though out the game,” said caoch Billy Holcombe.

The Panthers ‘A’ Team improved to 2-1 in district

The Seventh Grade ‘B’ Team gave a great effort but still fell to the Cubs 16 -0.

The Cubs had a little to much speed for the Panthers.

“The team did an outstanding job last,” said Holcombe about the ‘B’ squad, “we just came up a little short.

“Tthe team still showed improvement with each snap and look to turn thing around against Chapel Hill next week,” Holcombe concluded.

Both Panther teasm will play Chapel Hill in their final home game of the season.

“The crowd support has been great and we hope everybody can come out and make a bunch of moise for these kid’s,” Holcombe added.

“This is the last the last home game of the season, and the kid’s really react to the crowd support we have gotten over the season.”.
