ATHENS – The Bullard Fall Tennis team lost their final match up of the shortened season with a very close loss, 10-6 at the hands of the Athens Hornets last week on the Hornets home tennis courts.

“I saw much improvement overall with the team,” said Tanya Bryant after the matches, “They all fought hard and a few matches could have gone either way. “Unfortunately they fell the other way this time,” Bryant added.

About the upcoming season in the spring, Bryant was optimistic with a shortened roster in this first fall tennis program for the Panthers.

“We did not get to play as many matches as we had liked but we got started late and it will be better next season but, we have plenty of time to get sharp and improve or skills, and I look forward to the spring season.”

Taking wins in singles were Christopher Braaten, and Ashley Phillips.

Winning in doubles action included the boy’s tandem of Christopher Braaten and Stephen Head, Sal Giuliano and Jeremy Rhodes, and the team of Zach Wingate and Hunter Wages.

Crystal Hill and Ashley Kotzur took their matches in girl’s doubles.
