(Photo Courtesy of Linda Seronello) Seventeen Upper School students participated in the first annual UT Tyler Mathematics Challenge competing against students from All Saints, Robert E. Lee, John Tyler and Arp Tuesday, Oct. 6. Students began the day competing individually in one of three categories, including Algebra II, Pre-Calculus or Calculus, by taking individual exams. Following lunch and a tour of the campus, schools competed head-tohead in Quiz Bowl competition. Brook Hill students swept the Pre-Calculus category, including the team of Weite Tang, first place; Ji Hyun Kim, second place; and Tommy Huynh, third place. Kenai Walker placed second in Calculus. Brook Hill’s Quiz Bowl team of Sally Lee, Ji Hyun Kim, Tommy Huynh and Kenai Walker (pictured above) advanced to the final round after placing first, then beat All Saints in the final round to become Quiz Bowl Champions.
