The Guard cruises by All Saints Trojans in league showdown

The Brook Hill Guard showed some sportsmanship on the field and a well oiled machine-like performance in a 59-0, cruise for the Guard on Friday night at All Saint’s, beautiful Mewbourne over All Saints.

After a 69-0 win last year for Brook Hill, All Saints still looks for that first district football win, but show big strides of improvement

from last year allowing only four second half first downs for Brook Hill.

(Banner Staff Photos by  Paul Dickey)       (Banner Staff Photos by Paul Dickey) The Guard lost the opening toss but fumbled the opening kickoff.. The quick turnover invitied scores from close and long orchestrated tulage proved out in the first half prominence, leading 49-0.

The Guard (6-1, 2-0 TAPPS Div. II-District 2)to nine total yards and no first downs while racking up 196 yards and 17 first downs of their own.

Baker threw for 102 yards and three scores. Jeremey Chappelle caught five balls for 115 yards and TDs snags from 25 and 45 yards.

Chappelle, and A.J. Minter added 10-yard runs for scores and and a 10- yard pass from Tyler Baker to let the good times roll for the Blue-and Orange.

A long TD rumble by Ross Lee of 57-yards would be the only score of the second half.

The sophomore, Moss a gamehigh 89 yards and a TD on the ground, 23 yards on two receptions, passed for another 41-yards, going 4-of-6

Sophomore linebacker Jared Dickey had a standout night for the Guard. Dickey blocked and recovered a punt, recorded a couple of sacks and returned a kickoff nine yards.

Fellow linebacker, Tallen Harris along with Dickey’s big brother, Heath ‘The Hoss’ Dickey and Justin Northcutt, were The Guard enforcers dominating all night as well.

Brook Hill attempted two field goals: a 22-yard attempt by Slaton Hierholzer that missed off the right post and a 29-yarder that Moss drilled for the final points of the game.

David Eichelberger carried the ball 10 times in the second half for the Guard and finished with 46 yards. Austin Langemeier and Hierholzer each nabbed an interception, with Langemeier returning his 30 yards for a score.
