Tractor fire
A tractor rig caught fire on F.M. 855 about 2.3 miles west
of U.S. Highway 69 Thursday, Sept. 24. Bullard Fire Chief
Keith Newburn manned a hose to douse the blaze.
Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell and the Flint-
Gresham Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the
emergency. The driver was not injured and no other injures
were reported. The vehicle, owned by Dart International,
was removed from the scene by Isaacs Wrecker
Service of Jacksonville. Newburn said it appeared that an
electrical short wa s the cause of the fire. Firefighters were
able to salvage the trailer, which was empty at the time of
the emergency.
