Panthers, Lady Panthers take second in CC

PALESTINE – The Bullard High School and Middle School cross country teams all finished in the top five of the team standings recently at the Dogwood Cross Country Invitational.

The BHS girl’s varsity took second-place behind Palestine. The Lady Panthers had two top ten finishes from Bailee Callens (fourth-place), and Kylee Nichols (eighthplace).

Samantha Phillips in17th (14.09), Sarah-Grace French placing 24th (14:33), while Katie Shumate and Rachel Horton took 35th, and 36th respectively.

Palestine also won the boy’s division, as Donald ‘Animal’ Sulser, and Keaton Boyd took third-place and sixth-place for their best efforts on the season thus far.

J.T. Myers came in at 27th place while teammates David Heithoff (32nd) and Christopher Braaten (41st), added to the team totals.

The host Wildcats dominated the top ten with four runners in the top ten.

The Bullard middle school girl’s team got a top five effort from Lexi Abecrombie in fourth-place, and Kali Williams taking fifth to lead to a third-place team finish. Elizabeth Soto in 38th-place was followed up by Bullard runners Riley Holmer (42th), Jamey King (48th), and Amanda Bass (49th).

The Bullard boy middle school long-haulers placed Zake Evans in the tenth-place spot but placed well enough to claim the fifth-place team spot. Jonathan Chambliss (26th), Garrett Green (48th), and D.J. Buckley (56th), earned the fifth-place team finish.

The high school teams will get back to district warmups this Friday morning when they run at Lindale.
